Our Story
Grounded Expertise,
Honest Perspective
We founded Thong Atlas on a straightforward belief: that good consulting should leave a business stronger and more capable — not more dependent on outside advice.

How Thong Atlas Came to Be
Thong Atlas started in Bangkok in 2014, when two senior advisors who had spent careers inside large consulting firms decided they wanted to work differently. The name draws on both Thai heritage and the idea of navigation — finding your way through territory that isn't well-mapped.
The practice grew steadily, mostly through word of mouth from clients who valued the directness of the work. We've never positioned ourselves as a firm that delivers long reports and moves on. Our engagements are designed to conclude with a leadership team that understands what they're doing and why.
Today the team combines backgrounds in strategy, organizational design, and market analysis — each with substantial time spent in Southeast Asian business environments. That regional grounding is not incidental; it shapes how we frame problems and what kinds of answers we trust.
Our Mission
To help companies in Thailand and the wider region make well-considered decisions about their structure, their sales approach, and their market position — through careful analysis and candid dialogue.
Our Values
- Intellectual honesty, even when the finding is uncomfortable
- Scoped, purposeful work — not indefinitely extended retainers
- Deep respect for the client's own understanding of their business
- Practical recommendations, not theoretical frameworks
Our Focus
Mid-sized businesses operating in Thailand — both Thai-owned companies navigating growth, and international organizations entering or expanding within the market.

How We Work
Standards We Hold Ourselves To
Our approach to client work is shaped by a set of internal standards that guide every engagement, from initial scoping to final delivery.
Strict Confidentiality
All client information, internal data, and project findings are treated with full confidentiality. We do not discuss client work with other clients, and we do not use anonymized cases without explicit approval.
Defined Scope, Delivered
Every engagement has a clearly written scope document agreed upon before work begins. We hold to the agreed deliverables and timeline, and communicate proactively if circumstances change.
Senior Involvement Throughout
The same senior consultant who scopes the project conducts the analysis and presents the findings. We do not delegate primary engagement responsibility to junior staff.
Objective Analysis Standards
Our findings are peer-reviewed internally before client presentation. We apply structured analytical frameworks while remaining open to what the data actually shows, rather than fitting it to a preferred narrative.
Conflict of Interest Policy
We do not accept engagements with direct competitors of existing clients in the same category. Where any potential conflict exists, we disclose it at the outset and let the client decide whether to proceed.
Continuous Professional Development
Our consultants maintain active membership in relevant professional bodies and participate in regional industry forums. This keeps our market knowledge current and our methodologies well-tested.
Our Perspective
What We Believe About Consulting
Business consulting in Thailand has grown considerably over the past decade, and with that growth has come a wider range of quality. Some firms produce voluminous documentation that sits on shelves. Others move too quickly, relying on pattern-matching from industries that don't translate to the Thai context.
Our position is simpler: the work has to connect to decisions. If an analysis doesn't inform a specific choice — about structure, investment, direction, or process — then it hasn't earned its place in the project. We build from that standard outward, designing every engagement around the decisions that actually need to be made.
Thailand also requires genuine local knowledge. Regulatory norms, organizational culture, relationship-based business practices, and the expectations of Thai employees and partners all shape whether a strategy can be implemented. Our team has operated in this environment long enough to factor those realities in naturally, not as footnotes.
That combination — analytical rigor and contextual familiarity — is what we offer. It's not a formula; it's a way of working that we've built and refined over more than a decade of engagements across Bangkok and beyond.
